Hecate is NOT a Genie

It is bad enough that I have to keep telling Wiccans and Neopagans that Hecate is not a crone but now she is getting confused for a Djinn? For those of you who don't know what a Djinn is, it is basically a Genie but without the magic lamp. Usually they are "bound" to rings though. Djinn have been a part of Arabian folklore for decades and are now a part of Islamic folklore. Hecate is of course neither an Arabian nor an Islamic figure.

Hecate is the GREEK GODDESS of magic witchcraft and necromancy. She also guards the crosswords, is an underworld deity and scary as fuck.

A goddess cannot be "binded" to a ring. Do I really need to explain why you can't bind a god to an item and make that god grant all your wishes and perform magic for you? Really?

I only bring this up because I have found yet more spirit keepers nonsense.

This time, MOONSTAR7SPIRITS is trying to sell "Haunted Ring djinn Goddess of Magick Hecate extremely powerful for getting everything you want" on etsy.

Let's take a look at this one of a kind (really, it is one of a kind) magical, goddess binding ring!

Goddess Hecate greatly aids and blesses those she chooses. You are not here by chance.

Flattery will get you no where.

This ring is alive with the energy of Goddess HECATE!. It Glows with paranormal energy!

No it doesn't because you, a mortal human, cannot control, harness, trap or do anything else to a goddess or her powers. This is like Religion 101. Also, Hecate is not paranormal.

Goddess Hecate will be your favorite metaphysical item as she whisks you out of the ordinary and into the magickal life of a true God or Goddess!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *breaths* HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Magical with a k.... Hecate is not a metaphysical item.... She went from a goddess to a djinn to paranormal energy to a metaphysical item!
